About Us
We started our story back in the middle of 2008. At the time Sarah was living in Peterborough and Simon in Yeovil, some 200 miles apart. For 2 years we maintained our long distance relationship and became well acquanited with the joy of driving on the M25 on a Friday afternoon.
Rather than being "scared off" by Simon's two monsters; Chloe (now 13 but was 6 when they first met) and James (now 9 but was 2), Sarah really enjoyed spending time with them; playing games, watching family films, enjoying picnics and of course visiting family attractions (especially Disney!).
Eventually Sarah saw sense and decided to move to the warmer climate of sunny Dorset (Bournemouth). Soon Simon moved to Dorset too and we ended up living together in Poole, within walking distance of the beach. After realising they didn't drive each up the walls (too much) they decided to purchase their first house together in 2012.
On the first of December 2013, whilst sat overlooking Durdle Door, eating a picnic, Simon got down on one knee and popped the important question.......... after quelling her laughter, Sarah responded with an elated yes. Now it's time for the next steps on our journey together......... our Wedding Celebrations and HONEYMOON!!!
I grew up in Sutton-in-Ashfield, (known as "The North" to most of Simon's family and friends).
Not wanting to venture too far from home, I went to Uni in Sheffield (a little further North), to study Chemistry and Maths. I thoroughly enjoyed both subjects, but as with most graduates, I chose to ignore all the knowledge I'd gained, and get a job doing something different. So, that's when I moved to Peterborough (again, reasonably close to home).
The place I call home changed however not long after meeting Simon... now my feet are firmly placed in "The South", which is where we plan to stay... close to the beach!
Having been born and bred in Somerset, I'm a man well in touch with my local roots - especially the Cider, which does tend to bring out the traditional rolling rrrr's.
After 3 years studying Physics in London, I went to work "wiv computers", what I do to this very day.
Over the past 6 years, I've managed to pick up a bit of the local Midlands dialect - and now feel that myself and Sarah's parents can almost understand each other... though at times, Sarah is still required to translate.
